08/11/2022 -- Foothill High School in Tustin is actively searching for a Choral Accompanist for the 2022-2023 school year. The position needs to be filled as soon as possible. Candidates must be adept in piano performance, sight reading, collaborative arts, and must enjoy working with high school aged students. Duties include accompanying all class rehearsals, p laying for all concerts, festivals, exchanges, and performances, coaching solos and small ensembles, playing for all solo auditions that take place during the school day, leading sectionals and small groups of singers, etc. The time commitment consists of 4 days a week, roughly ~8:30am-2:30pm (4 days chosen from M-F, can vary weekly if needed) and of course all performances that occur outside of the school day. The stipend is $2,800 per month for 10 months, August-May (stipend amount is non-negotiable) *This is a part time job with no benefits from the Tustin Unified School District. Foothill has a long history of excellent choral music and a wonderful program. They have had the honor of presenting at the American Choral Directors Assocation Western Division Convention two times and are very active in the choral community. 08/06/2022 -- Chadwick School is seeking a Vocal Music Director to support two school theatre productions this coming year: the Upper School musical in the winter and the Middle School musical in the spring.

Auditions for the Upper School Musical will be on October 13-14, 2022 in the afternoon and evening. Rehearsals will begin the week of November 17, 2022 in the afternoons. Performances will be February 23-25, 2023.

Auditions for the Middle School Musical will be on March 3/9, 3/13, and 3/14. Rehearsals will begin on March, 15, 2023. Performances will be June 2-3, 2023.

The Musical Director will work closely with Chadwick's Director of Theatre to oversee all vocal music aspects of a musical theatre production, including supporting the casting of performers, rehearsing singers, and conducting the pit orchestra in performance.

Vocal Director for the annual Upper School and Middle School musical Collaborate closely with the creative team to create a joyful, high-quality production.
Conduct/Direct a small, largely professional pit orchestra in the Upper School musical production
Be on campus at times determined by the Director of US or MS Theater on rehearsal days and during productions (afternoons and some evenings);
The Director of US or MS Theater will assign days and times for rehearsal and provide a schedule. Schedule may be subject to change. Hours may be flexible based on production needs.
Perform other duties as assigned

07/10/2022 -- St. Andrew Community Presbyterian Church is looking for a part-time Director of Music to lead our Chancel Choir on Sundays. We are seeking a candidate who can combine both traditional hymns and choir performances with more contemporary songs to create a blended music experience. The Director would be in charge of choral selections, teaching the congregation new songs, leading weekly rehearsals, and supervising an accompanist and bell choir director. Salary rate is $1500 per month with approximately 6 to 10 hours of work per week. We are willing to negotiate as to a number of Sundays per year and/or summers off.

07/03/2022 - Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Orange would like to fill the position of a part time Organist/Pianist. The salary is $14K per year and has a very minimal time requirement (Sundays/Wednesdays). Applicants must be adept at the piano and organ, a proficient sight reader, capable of improvisation, and skilled at accompanying. Proficiency in performing of a wide range of music including classical, gospel, contemporary styles, and secular music is necessary. An extensive knowledge of organ and piano repertoire is required. A working knowledge of Lutheran liturgy and worship and a theological understanding of church music is strongly recommended. The ability to communicate well and in a friendly manner with fellow staff members and the congregation is a must.
