Virtual Choir Festivals

This page is meant to be viewed on a desktop browser and is not optimized for viewing on mobile devices.

This year's Virtual Choir Festivals will allow participating choirs to experience an on-line choral exchange with up to four ensembles and a clinician, in which they will submit video or audio recordings of their performances in advance (no live performances). Clinicians will offer their feedback after each recording is played with a focus on the process of recording and overcoming challenges of working together in an on-line format. Clinicians may also choose to address historical and education aspects of the music chosen by each ensemble or other aspects appropriate to this format.

We also recognize that many of us are unable to record anything with our ensembles this year, but would still benefit from a clinic experience. Therefore, each clinic will have space for up to two non-performing ensembles to attend as observation-only participants.

Directors wishing to schedule multiple choirs from the same school will need to spread them out throughout the sessions offered below. Ensembles can submit their virtual videos/recordings through the SCVA website no later than three days in advance of the festival date. Each recording is limited to 5-7 minutes in length. Song selections should reflect festival repertoire standards, although SCVA recognizes the limitations of virtual performance and preparation.

If you would like to register for a session but it is already full, please register for the waitlist. Once a waitlist receives three registrations, additional sessions will be added, as long as we are able to secure staffing.

The deadline to register is April 14. Festival fees are $55 for Performance choirs and $20 for Observation-Only choirs, and those fees must be paid prior the festival date. When registering for festivals you can remit payment through PayPal (you don't need to have a PayPal account to use the PayPal service) or by mailing a school/booster/cashier's check payable to "SCVA" to:   Kristen Walton, 5493 Conestoga Lane, Riverside, CA 92504

If you need an invoice, please login to the Members-Only area with your e-mail address and password after you have registered for a festival.
